Types of Abuse

Abuse can come in many forms — from emotional to physical to sexual — and it can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, religion, race or income level. Learning about different types of abuse is one step towards raising awareness and ultimately reaching our goal of ending gender-based violence in Westmoreland County.  Remember that each type of abuse is serious, and that no one deserves to experience it in any form.

As always, if you or a loved one are a survivor/victim of any type of abuse, Blackburn Center can help. Our hotline is available 24/7, is always free of charge, and can be anonymous:  1-888-832-2272 (TDD Available).
