This Thanksgiving, We Are Grateful for YOU

In November, we celebrate Thanksgiving – a great time to consider what we are thankful for in our lives. At Blackburn Center, we have immense gratitude for all of those who support our work. Our mission is challenging, and requires dedication and commitment. Each year, we provide direct services and community education to thousands of people throughout Westmoreland County. We know that we could not do the work that we do without our incredible staff and our amazing board members, volunteers, and donors.

This Thanksgiving, we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person who has helped Blackburn Center over the course of the past year. We know that times are tough for many people, and we cannot express just how much it means to us that so many of you continue to support our mission. Your commitment means the world to us – and we cannot thank you enough for your dedication to our mission.

To Our Staff:

We are so thankful for you, and your tireless work. Whether you are providing therapy or counseling, training volunteers, providing legal services, staffing our emergency shelter, supporting victims in the legal or medical systems, educating thousands of students, providing training to businesses and community groups, fundraising, handling finances or administrative work, or doing any of the other many tasks that are required to keep Blackburn Center going, you are the heart and soul of our organization. Quite simply, we could not provide hope and healing to the women, children and men of Westmoreland County without you. Thank you!

To Our Volunteers:

Blackburn Center was founded by volunteers more than 40 years ago. Volunteers continue to be vital to our agency. Our volunteers offer countless hours of their time to answer calls on our 24 hour hotline, serve on committees, staff events like Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, support our emergency shelter, serve as speakers, hand out literature, and so much more! Your work on behalf of Blackburn Center allows us to reach many more people than we could without your work. Thank you!

To Our Board of Directors:

Serving on the board of a nonprofit is a major commitment. We are so grateful of your willingness to give so freely of your expertise, experience, enthusiasm, and time. With your support, we can continue to fulfill our mission and work on our vision for the future. We cannot thank you enough for all of the time and energy that you devote to our organization. Thank you!

To Our Donors:

Blackburn Center obtains a portion of its financial support from state and federal resources. The remainder of our funding comes from members of our community – like you! Throughout the year, you contribute to our agency in a number of ways, from in-kind donations, items for our clients from our shelter needs list, or direct monetary donations. Individuals, community groups, colleges and schools, religious congregations, businesses and foundations have all provided amazing support to Blackburn Center over the past year. Your generosity allows us to continue to provide critical services for thousands of people throughout Westmoreland County. Thank you!

On Thanksgiving and every day of the year, we are grateful for all of those who support our work.

As always, we are here for you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call our hotline anytime at 1-888-832-2272 to get help (TDD available). All calls are free of charge and can be anonymous.
