What a Walk!

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

In 2021, for the first time ever, we hosted a virtual Walk a Mile in Their His Her Our Shoes event. Moving to a virtual format had a lot of challenges, from figuring out how to host this type of walk to making sure that everyone who wanted to participate could do so. We are thrilled to report that our 2021 event was a success!

We’ve used a lot of metrics over the years to measure the success of the Walk. This year, we are adding a new component: highlighting a sampling of the individuals and teams who participated across Westmoreland County. This year, over 500 people registered to participate in the Walk - and many more participated on their own!

Our Walkers included:

Team WCSI

The Tuscano Agency

Team Skiffen

Seton Hill University Football Team

The Wimmerton Walkers

The University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg

The Mighty Tri Girls and Team Chaos

Cooper and his family

Murrysville Walkers

Ariel’s Team (including some Juvenile Probation staff)

Louise & Janet

Holly & Barley

Voice of Westmoreland

Jessica & the WCSI Walkers

The Seton Hill University Equestrian Team

Cassie & Tayler

Lynn

Together, you helped us raised over $75,000 to support our mission. More importantly, each person who participated raised awareness about gender-based violence and how it affects our community. We cannot thank you enough for your support.

We hope to see you back at St. Clair Park in 2022. Until then, stay healthy and as always, reach out to us at 1-888-832-2272 if you, or someone you love, needs our help.
